Sabiene is going on holiday next week and in order to get her strength up to go on holiday, she needs to… go on holiday. So she rented a cottage , sorry, that should be “cottage” in Langdale:

(The photos don’t do it justice.)
She and Andy invited us down and we joined them and John and Annette for drink and silly board games on Saturday evening, followed by a walk up Rossett Pike on Sunday (so Annette could tick another Wainwright).
Wildlife moment: newts extracted from Rossett Ghyll (is this legal? Never mind they went straight back in – and they were only Common, not Great Crested. This means it is OK to build a wind turbine on Rossett Pike).
Unexpectedly we did not get rained on at all. However, as we sat in the ODG supping our pints afterwards, the heavens opened.

The Angel of the North?
What! That’s not a cottage… π― Looks amazing! π
β‘ Shame the pic of the newt is a bit out of focus?
Yep the “cottage” was palatial, I especially liked the knee-deep squishy carpet, v luxurious! Didn’t have time to use the sauna.
(I didn’t take the newt pic, it was the best of 2 emailed to me)
Heh, that’s my Newt. That’s why I call him “Tiny”
