February saw the blog reach a milestone, the blog had over one million hits!
Considering the fact that back at the blog’s 2nd birthday (December 2007) it had just over 130,000 hits per month and that by the 3rd birthday – just over two months ago – this had risen to half a million hits per month; one million this month is amazing. This is mostly due to the quality of the contributor’s writings and pictures. A massive thank-you for that!
Keep visiting. But most of all, get out and have an adventure to keep those reports coming!

One million hits, eh? 😯
Surely that warrants a cake?! 😀
How about a link to the recipes of all the cakes Tish eats? 😆
Hmmmm, maybe a celebration cake is required.
The only possible new feature I could think of was an online adventure diary. If we all knew what each other were likely to be doing in the future (not necessarily specifically but county-based and activity), there may be more chance that we’d all be able to cross paths more in the real world.
Perhaps we should also organise an “annual”/”every million hits” Sterling Blog get together (eg. including the official launch of the blog calendar!). Even though I feel like I partly know Terry and Ian for example, I’ve never actually met them and I probably wouldn’t even recognise them in the street. 💡
Meeting real people? Are you mad? How would we all agree which caving area to hold the get together in?
But if Tish is baking the cake… :yum:
Yorkshire of course, then we can climb too! :star:
Right then – get it organised someone, and I’ll bake a cake or three. 🙂
What is the best climbing location in Yorkshire then? I never really considered the rocks there…
It will be near both whatever cave needs looking at on the day and the best cake shop in the area :good:
Colin’s criteria suite me, esp. the cake shop! :yum:
There are great crags all over the major caving areas – and some particularly good ones near Settle and Clapham, and of course there is Malham Cove too! 😀
So, who’s organising that date? 😉
