We thought we only had a short day today (we had a meeting at 6pm), so we opted for a ski tour at Contamine.
Contamine is a lovely ski area. The pistes are quiet and the lifts cheaper than Chamonix. We did a few runs to get our ski legs back and then at around midday we set off from the top of the Telesiege de la Buche Croisee.
We followed the route past the trail up to the Col de la FenΓΒͺtre, continuing round the buttress of the TΓΒͺte de la Cicle, and then up to the Col de la Cicle. There were some amazing views.
The ski down from the Col wasn’t as steep as I feared and the snow was beautiful powder. I would like to ski better so I wouldn’t have to stop all the time, but at least I made it down without falling.
We got down to the valley and then back to Chamonix in plenty of time to relax with tea and cake before our meeting.
Annoyingly, we later found out that the meeting has been moved a week. Doh!!! We can’t come out two weeks in a row.
Oh well, we’ve now moved on to beer and nibbles as consolation.
How annoying about the meeting being moved π‘ π‘ , but that cake looks like some consolation :yum: :yum:
The snow looks good for skiing…. what was the avalanche risk? The debris looks pretty fresh π―
Great cake! Hope it tasted as good as it looks.
Nah, they tasted awful – so Laetitia let me finish hers! π :yum:
