Richard and I are skiing in Mayrhofen this week. The snow on our first ski day was really good (particularly for Easter), but we were in the cloud all day and so the visibility was not great. It was tricky to see the piste-markers and at times we had to wait for skiers to come past showing the way! After a hard day, we dropped back down to the valley to more cloud and rain. But on the slopes snow was falling heavily and on the Tux glacier the next day, we were greeted with 20 cm of powder snow! After a few runs on the pistes, Richard tried to take me off-piste…
In contrast to the previous day, the visibility was fantastic and we could see the pretty views all around us π
On day 3, we skied in the same area as day 1, except that we could see it this time! We had a great day, and made even better by us receiving an offer on our house π
Looks fantastic. :star: :star: :star:
“Off piste”? Right then, perhaps next year with Richard’s new job that’ll make it easier for us to hook up outside term time, we can get off on a tour somewhere…
Sounds good to me. Rachel didn’t spend a lot of time in the powder, so her off-piste skiing is still a work in progress, and sadly after today’s warm temperatures the powder is more like cement. π
Having said that, Rachel’s skiing is worlds apart from when you skied with her – she’s been taking on black runs today with no problems at all. π
