On Sunday, and with a late start (we blamed the clocks changing), Ian and Paul headed for Borrowdale to grab a rock route in the sun. We headed for Quayfoot Buttress as it has a shorter walk-in than even Shepherds! At the foot of the crag, Paul realised he had 2 right rock shoes, an 8 and 5. Not deterred, but lowering our sights, we did Mandrake, HVS 4c,5a. I led and Paul cruised it in his scrambling boots; there’s no replacement to technique and strength!
So what did Paul do? No climbing shoes, technique or strength! 😉
No!!!, thats not wot I meant!
Yeah, I know what you meant – it was a poor attempt to have some fun at Paul’s expense… 🙁
