A very tough choice of venue today…
- Nine climbers (Anna, Fiona, Laetitia, Sarah, Dave, Ian, Jon, Paul, and Pete),
- Varying leading abilities from beginner to expert,
- A chance to have some sociable fun somwhere on Lakeland rock,
- A weather forecast that suggested we might have a light shower or two,
- Not too long a walk-in (the holiday’s efforts were starting to tell),
- Yet still, the ever present need for adventure!
Where do you choose?
After searching nearly every page of every Lake District guide book looking for the right mix of grades, walk-in (to save our tired legs and to run away should the threatened rain arrive), and aspect (to get the best of any sun going) we settled on East Raven Crag in Langdale. Not a bad choice – everybody seemed to have fun and between us nearly every line got ticked more than once. And that was despite the rain putting in an appearance for lunch.
great photo of my rucsac…..
Yeah, and my shoes! 😉
Ah yes, good to see yellow putting in such a bright performance again…
Hmm, I think orange is the new yellow. Although not in the picture, I think that was the favoured colour of the weekend! 😆
Mmmm, think only Jon thought my tan was orange.
Thinking of your tan, I had thought one of your brother’s wedding guests might have posted a report?
Had a great day.
