The weather in the Lakes was hot and sultry, maybe even too hot for climbing. It felt like it was going to rain, but never did.
Undettered, we headed for Black Crag, as it is on the limit of my limping ability; Anna, Sarah and I climbed The Coffin.
Pete and Laetitia were on Prana, but even from our side of the crag we heard the yelp, thump and astonished groans from Pete as he became unattached.
Pete ponders a couple of weeks off climbing
With Pete out of action, Laetitia and Sarah climbed Troutdale Pinnacle Direct, whilst Anna and I went across to look at Moonraker. The guide gives this route a star, and says “worth the wander across”. No! No! No! It was rubbish. Years of no ascents have left it dirty and covered with brambles and ferns. We did the first pitch and headed back across the crag a little dissatisfied. 10 minutes later Jon arrived, and all was well with the world. The magnums are worth another look……..
Awesome Magnums! Thanks Jon!!! π
The
fingerthumb looks gruesome doesn’t it!? πYeah – thanks Jon. The Magnums were fantastic. We’re so easily pleased π
Ouch!
Yeah, look at my misery behind the two smiling faces of Anna & Jon…
