Scotland stays fine!!!

After a week of painting in Kinlochleven, Anna, Andy and Sabiene joined me at Arthur’s house in Kinlochleven for the weekend. All week the weather had been changeable, with poor weather forecast for saturday, but once again the millions spent by the BBC on weather forecasting proved to be wasted; at the last minute they changed their mind and promised rain only in the afternoon. It never materialised. We decided on a shortish day, and headed across the Corrour ferry; our target Garbh Bheinn.
It certainly lives up to it’s name meaning “rocky mountain”, and we enjoyed some easy scrambling on our way to the summit.

The route to the top takes you close to the crags; we climbed here with Pete and Tish quite a few years ago. We must have been younger then….. I wouldn’t have fancied carrying a rucsack full of gear up there!
From the top we had a perfect 360 view…. Ben Nevis, Skye, Rhum…. it was all there. A great day on a great mountain.

  1. What a fantastic day you had. Last time me and Pete went there we dragged all our gear up to climb only to get absolutely soaked just as we approached the top! No climbing and no views.
Looks like you had the place to yourselves as well…. and no midges?

  2. Well, it wasnt’ all bad in England either. Roaches was perfectly satisfactory on Sunday. Just the odd shower, which didn’t really affect the rock. Few people as well, tho not as few as Anna and Ian didn’t meet. See post elsewhere.
