Oh, it was so hot……….. almost too hot.
No not really, it was just pleasantly warm, but after the appalling June and July weather we could have been in the Med. In fact our venue was Castle Rock at the head of Thirlmere, handy for Pete and us. I was feeling a bit ring rusty with all the bad weather and the foot injury, but threw myself off the deep end and onto Failed Romantic, E1,5b. Quite pleased at the top, but I didn’t admit to Anna or Pete how pumped I’d got near the top and how close I’d come to testing Anna’s belaying!
Of course, both Anna and Pete made much less fuss than me, but I’ve got an excuse, and I’ll be milking it for as long as possible.
Pete rounded the evening off with Gazebo, HVS, in brilliant evening sunshine, and the pint at the pub was well earned.
Just one downer on the evening…… Tish was in Reading… we all missed her!
Yeah – it was a great evening!
You did a great job on that route Ian – even without your “El Cap” rack. ๐
Grim? Leading? What level did the expletivometer reach?!
HE HE! Not sure about expletives, but there were quite a few calls of “watch me”! ๐
