The weather forecast caught us out and delivered yet more rain instead of the dry sunny spells promised, so we ended up passing on the climbing option. Doh! It’s a good job there are plenty of efficient mountain streams in the Lakes or else I’m sure we’d be under feet of water by now. When will the rain stop and summer arrive?
It did brighten up a bit in the afternoon, so a brisk walk along the beach at Allonby with Anna and Ian was interesting; beach combing and watching the kite surfers. Check out the picture of one of the kite surfers making a jump as he came into the beach to take his board off his feet in fine style; poser! 😉
After that we were joined by Sarah for dinner before getting the whisky out to watch the bollywood movie on C4.
… hmmmmm, no mention of the breakfast at Shepherd’s Caff; elevenses in Keswick (caff opposite Rohan does yummy choc caramel shortbread), olives etc from The Fond Ewe, or ice cream at Twentyman’s (Allonby). Not one of our better diet weekends.
HE HE 😆
Oops, yes, I did miss out all the “between meal” eating didn’t I, as remember we also had our “lunch” (sarnies) in the car too!
You’re assuming of course that the kite surfer was in control and intended his balletic dismount! Very impresive nonetheless – I’m just jealous of course…
Yes, it was an assumption – but by the way he looked so super smug after pulling off the move right in front of us – I think it was intended to impress!
