A last minuite decision Friday night to cancel our N Wales trip due to the ongoing monsoon saw Paul and SS in the Peak Saturday morning. Too cold and windy for grit; too wet for limestone. Need somewhere sheltered and quick drying! Hmm Horseshoe? Been there recently. I know! Staden quarry, sheltered and fairly fast to dry, up to 27 mtrs high trad limestone. I kicked off with Bicycle Repair Man an old favourite, SS opting for Swan Song and 2 more routes later finished on Captain Reliable. Not a Ganley of routes but still a good day considering the recent monsoon.
Hey that quarry looks good.
I fear I have to admit, the Peak does have a better selection of venues of this type. 🙁
Paul you must be able to remember every move and every no 1 runner still a good place though Saturday I was with the Saxbys on sunny sheperds and castle rock sunday with Jill lo because now I am a cumbrian
Awesome – the Cumbrian gang grows!!
