The combination of the weather forecast and the actual weather messed up all our plans for climbing this Friday, Saturday and Sunday! That is until we got up to Brant Fell for a bit of a walk to work up an appetite for Sunday dinner with some fresh air and the wonderful view of Lake Windermere and the distant Langdale Pikes… Of course, as the late afternoon arrived so did better and better weather – we should have been out climbing “proper routes” – but, (luckily 😉 ) there’s some high quality bouldering at the top of the Fell and we (Anna, Ian, Laetitia and I) successfully completed a full Ganley of mini-routes! 😀
Yeah, the weather turned out very nice indeed in Borrowdale.
If we had been out climbing properly we might well have missed out on the fancy fig starter, the meltingly tender roast beef, the delicious gooseberry pie…. so there is a silver lining.
Sounds like a Wayfarer’s meet report!!!!
Now I’m confused, why does it sound like the Wayfarers?
Because a Wayfarer’s meet report typically comprises 10% what was done on the meet and 90% what was eaten!!!
Ahh!
