Terry and various partners have been working through ‘Western grit’ and slowly nudging east. Saturday and glorious weather saw Terry and Chris at Laddow crag. Dangerously east of Glossop, far up Longdendale, about an hour’s walk (as far as Dow or Gimmer).
Looking back down Longdendale from Laddow crag, towards Woodhead reservoir, a good walk!
One of the classics of the crag, ‘Tower Face’ (VS)’
Having travelled so far east, it was tempting to risk capture and go the full way. Saturday night in the Downes Hut, then a trip to Outside to buy the ‘Eastern grit’ guidebook. However, it was inevitable we would be spotted and Paul looked surprised to see us.
Even better weather still and savoured the joys of Burbage.
Just look at that Mediterranean sky!
Feeling my feet on ‘Overhanging Buttress’ (4a)
Later on, we went to Bamford…. ‘Evening falls over Bamford Crag’
Yes, it is inevitable, in my experience it’s impossible to go anywhere with Terry and not bump into someone he knows! 😉
