It poured with rain and was really windy last night. I woke up (having remembered to put the clocks back) at my usual time which is when Pippa taps my face telling me she needs to go out.
I decided on a local walk today, considering the weather and wanting to do a few jobs at home later. Pouring over the map at the breakfast table, I opted for Crosby Garrett Fell.
I put on my waterproofs and set off with just a bum bag for a snack, a drink and not much else. The day turned out to be fantastic, blue skies, sunshine and warmth. I was somewhat overdressed but having no rucksack, meant it was easier to wear my waterproofs rather than carry them. Oh well, I’ll remember next time to take a rucksack.
It was another nice circular walk. The walk goes over the fell, passes by Nettle Hill, and taking a right turn after the electric fence drops into Pott’s Valley.
This gave me a bit of an unusual photo opportunity….
I stopped on a lip of a deep stream to see my shadow on the other side. Pippa ran off and I was amazed to see her stand next to my shadow.
I returned through some fields and down a narrow ancient lane back to Crosby Garrett.
Wow, looks like you had even sunnier weather than we did in the Lakes! 🙂
That’s an amazing photo. It would make a good front cover for a book on popular science!
