Postcard from Canada

Greetings from Terry and Paul in Canada. Also from Marj, Val and Mel, Carol and Bruce. Sorry no photos as yet. See later. Unseasonably high temperatures and actually been rock climbing in Kananaskis with Rick. But out every day so far, and one very long trip into Ghost for Black Mount, although the waterfall was gone, at least in the first few feet. I’m still limping from that one. More to follow, including pictures, when we can download some…

  1. Good to hear from ya Terry! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

๐Ÿ˜ฏ Wow, rock climbing, it must be warm. Although I remember Paul doing a rock route a few years ago too. Was it at Heart Creek? Anyway, have you all got your rock shoes etc. with you on your ice climbing holiday then?

  2. Can’t wait for the photos. I bet you’re having a great time whatever the weather. Good move being in Canada Terry…………….. you’re missing the budget on Wednesday ๐Ÿ˜†

  3. Yeah, Rick Felber and TG have developed a nice winter rock climbing spot and had invited us to try it, so we packed rock shoes anyway ๐Ÿ˜€ In the event, it looks like we might be needing then for rest of this week, since temperatures have rocketed, possibly warmer than England ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Altho we did Carlesberg yesterday (in shade of course) :star: , Wicked Wanda today looked wickedly unsafe ๐Ÿ‘ฟ I have a picture taken from behind the bottom bit with the light shining thro ๐Ÿ˜ฏ People are actually rockclimbing in the Ghost now and we’re thinking in those terms, so the shoes may come in handy yet ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  4. Hi Terry, have been wondering how you’ve been getting on. Have been exchanging emails with St Bernard who said ‘God has gone to Canada’. Unfortunately it looks as if not even God can stop Global Warming in Canada but we’re still waiting for it to arrive here. Gale force winds and extreme rain so far. Have fun on rock. Get those photos posted! Will email. Val

  5. Hey Val, great that you’re readingthe web ๐Ÿ˜€ as often happens in Canada, its gone very cold again, so we’re back on ice ๐Ÿ˜Ž minus 14 yestersay morning and we set off up the icefilelds to look at a route called ‘Stanley major’. Its one that the Kats have viewd before, oposte ‘Shades of Beauty’. A great pillar if a waterfall ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Anyway, it was superb and definitely recommend it to all :star: :star: :star: and as for pete….

  6. Well all, last post on this postcard from me ๐Ÿ™ just packing up now for airport. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ Paul coming in later with Mel ๐Ÿ˜›

Looks like we showed good judgement on Malignant Mushroom :good: since a big chunk fell off next day, we heard ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Val and Mel went far up South Ghost same day and saw fresh bear tracks ๐Ÿ˜ณ Rick told us there’s a nasty female grisley up there right now. She’s just woken up and is very aggressive ๐Ÿ‘ฟ ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

  7. Hi Terry- ah so sweet of you to reply to me on this blog. Well not yet got round to emailing…too much work ( & a few problems with home email though better now on wifi broadband). Thought this Easter would be a write off ( too cold for rock) but am off to Scotland with Steve for a few days tomorrow. Hope to do something icy on the Ben, such a great pace for a long day out and its a many years since I have done anything there. Well we’ll see. Like to look on this blog to see what everyone is up to.

Still hope to meet up with you and StB for some rock later on. Val

PS Pete if you read this thought your field mouse (in the house) photo was really fantastic.
