WMCEG goes cultural

A celebration of nothing in particular was organised for a Wednesday night WMCEG meeting at the Savanna Restaurant, which specialises in Ethiopian, Eriteran and West African food. Only Richard recognised the items on the menu, but we soon worked out that the basis behind the menu was that it probably came with pancakes; pancakes which were a bit like crumpets, but really thin and large. We all had starters, which were mainly pancakes with saucy stuff. For mains, we ordered various things which was very tasty and all came on a large pancake, with further rolled up pancakes. Bill ordered a main course which was served on a large pancake, contained shredded pancakes, then he, unintentionally, ordered further pancakes. The posted picture is of his meal after he’d finished … i.e. he was rather full of pancakes.

An interesting evening in which Bill memorably got Colin mixed up with a Turkish woman!
