During a mountain practice on Friday on Little Fell on Wild Boar Fell, I lost a glove about 1 mile from the road on open ground. However, because of new technology (GPS microphones on our radios), allowed my exact position to be tracked back at base. So, on Saturday morning, taking these co-ordinates, I tracked back to approximately the location of the lost glove and wandered around. I found nothing, but having Pippa around and encouraging her, she found my snow covered glove about 20 m from me.
Don had also lost a hat and phone case. He knew approximately where it was. As soon as he realised he’d lost them, he marked the point on his GPS. We went there and Pippa’s nose was working well and we found both.
A successful morning before collecting at Westmorland Services on the M6 for Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue Team.
Good on ya Pippa! 😀
Coool, now all she’s got to do is find that stash of millions that I lost on the fells the other day. Can she get that for me? 🙂
Of course she can find it, our commission rate is a mere 10% and is to be paid in used £20 notes placed in a brown envelope.
Please advise of approximate location by personal email as we don’t want the world to know about your stash. 😉
