We had intended to climb in Aiguilles Rouges today, but when we arrived in Chamonix yesterday it was raining – a lot, which meant fresh snow up higher! So today’s sports plan was altered to account for the fresh snow, an unplanned late season skiing at Le Tour.
By-the-way, I think the view behind Laetitia in the first picture looks a bit like the North Lakes. What do you think?
This time last year Pete and Ian were planning the Haute Route trip over a very large whiskey! π
Le Tour is where Ian and Anna took us on our very first attempts of skinning. A very short ascent to a little hut for a fantastic hot chocolate.
We missed them today, even though the pisted slopes of Le Tour are a bit easier than last year’s expedition.
Yes, you’re right Pete…. it is well known that that view is similar to the North Lakes.
The snow looks fantastic. How far into the valley does it reach????
The snow is all the way back to the car park! π
