After yesterdays big walk, we chose something a little less rocky, but nonetheless gave excellent views and a nice circular walk.
Our first stop was Illgill Head, but not before passing over a lovely little bridge.

The path from Illgill Head is a fine area overlooking the sea, the Isle of Man, Sellafield(!) and of course Wastwater.

After Whin Rigg, we descended to the Lake, where I left Liz for a walk on the far side of the lake to see if I could get up Yewbarrow before it got dark, while Liz opted for the bouldery route alongside the lake.
I got to the base of Yewbarrow at 2pm hoping that would be enough time to get up and down before daylight faded. I needn’t have worried as the ascent, was fairly straightforward with a bit of steep scrambly stuff half way up.

Another great day, and a few more pints in the Wasdale Head Inn.
