We crunched our breakfast this morning - un pain avec abricot confiture - and something crunched harder than I expected. I'd broken my tooth! But nothing was going to stop play today...
On the off chance we went to see Don Mescall in Kirkby Stephen.
The meal was excellent and Penny’s Pear Tart Tartin was to die for, followed by 2 hours of Don’s excellent music.
It was a wet and windy day so it seemed appropriate to go into the Howgills and start a walk up Winder.
Gosh it was miserable, it rained, it blowed, it was hard to walk.
At all costs do not fall off when rock climbing! Well, this is certainly true when your protection is not going to hold a fall, as it isn't really the falling off, or the falling that must be avoided. It's the landing!
Having been stuck at home on holiday for a few days I realised that my house was lacking something in the way of furnishings and as a result I went out today to get some stuff for the house. Now furnishings are a matter of highly personnel taste.
The 85 mile Chilterns Ridgeway runs right past our backdoor so we decided we'd have a carbon free weekend...
Yet another excellent day.....
With global warming really taking hold, the world seems to have been flipped on its head, with the Lakes enjoying weather reminiscent of the summer of' '76.
While visiting my Mum in Worcester we managed to get out in the amazing winter sunshine to enjoy the Sculpture Trail at the Forest of Dean...
