Amazing “summer” weather in Chamonix today – a bit unexpected really, the forecast had suggested a chance of a shower and a föhn wind. But we quickly, that is quickly after waking up at 10am, made best of it with some slabby rock climbing at Barberine…
Hopefully there’s a sense of the thinness of the slab in the next picture – it was pure faith in friction most of the way. I guess it was a bit tricky for our first “alpine” route of the year and being so early in the season we weren’t exactly match fit – neither of us found it as easy as it should have been!
Of course one beautiful aspect of spring time alpine climbing are all the lovely flowers…
Crikey, they’re very purple! 😯
Great looking slab too, slightly different experience if it wasn’t bolted?! 😮
