Finally the time had come… the rendezvous weekend where we would finally catch up with Richard, Rachel and Colin, none of who we’d met. Pete and Tish were there of course, and Paul and Dave, but we knew them, so they didn’t really count. We met up at Bernie’s cafe in Ingleton, and decided on a day at Twistleton as the sky was blue and the sun was shining. Richard and Rachel are not regular climbers, but joined us anyway, actually proving to be pretty competent.
The climbing obviously wasn’t quite enough exercise for Richard and Rachel who decided to run up a local small hill… Ingleborough. Disappointingly enough, we did a couple more routes, wandered down to the cars and they very nearly beat us back. God they’re mad!!!
After climbing, we pitched up at Greenclose, a caving club hut. This really makes any CC hut look like the Ritz. We were all pleased we’d decided on a barbeque as it meant we didn’t have to make too much use of the kitchen , which was a real health hazard.
And of course it was rounded off by one of Tish’s wonderful cakes. Yum.
I didn’t fancy muesli the next morning so it was lucky there was some CAKE left over!
Thanks Tish; also for the blog T-shirts.
Can’t believe you blogged even before we arrived home!!!
Great weekend! Richard is currently bent double over the caving survey to work out exactly where we went …
Impressive speedy blogging performance there Ian 😉 , another report just coming from me…
