Of course, its pretty difficult to do a ski tour without leaving Aspatria, and being lazy, I didn’t really want to leave the house. After all, it was wet and cold outside, and there was some good stuff on the telly. So I geared up , hopped onto the touring machine and set off. If I closed my eyes, I might easily have been on the Trient glacier. Next time I’ll put Pete’s dvd of the haute route trip on the telly, for true authenticity. It wasnt long before I was severely overheating, just like the real thing!!!
Luckily when I got the the hut, la gardienne had prepared gateaux de chocolat. Yum!
Deux gateaux au chocolat were made, but by the time of the photo one was already disparu… skiing really gives one an appetite.
Awesome work Grim! 🙂
I won’t ruin it by asking how far you went (or not as I suspect the case may be…) 😉
With the cake on offer, I made it all the way to the hut!! 😀
Fantastic report – and ooh, what lovely new boots you’ve got.
You look like a Terminator with those red glowing eyes!
Bet the gear didn’t last long, unless Anna had the freezer door open next to you
I thought water skis might be more appropriate at the moment?
At least Papcastle Bridge is now open. 😛 Makes it MUCH easier to get to that neck of the woods.
