Month: December 2009
Yes!! Snow... and we took a short walk up High Spy to build up an appetite for CAKE!
Recklessly we discounted the main roads and braved the icy lanes to get onto Caldbeck Common...
Having just taken my first chalet-based skiing holiday I have decided it is the way to go...
A short day playing in the mountains near Fort William. Somehow the idea of three hours in Scottish mountains is much more intimidating than a day in the Langdale Pikes!
A cold and breezy day on Great End.....
Richard and Rachel have fun in the snow. You didn't really think we went to a Coldplay concert, did you?
Went back to Blea Water today, this time with Li'l Pete, again with the intention of doing Birkett's. Got a bit closer than last time, but still failed. Third time lucky perhaps?
Yet another year is nearly over, and it's been a really wet year too - November saw record rainfall and devastating floods in Cumbria ... but the blog is another year old; a grand old age of four!
I got up early this morning, with the intention of taking advantage of the winter climbing possibilities in the Lakes. Ended up skiing instead?! Nice.
