Sgt Crag Slabs

Bank Holiday Monday…… where else to head but Borrowdale with the rest of the world. Anna and I made a late start, and meandered up Langstrath to Sgt Crag Slabs and met Pete and Tish who were already geared up and ready to climb.

It was already midday when we were ready, and the crag wasn’t very busy, probably because the sun hadn’t yet hit the rock. The climb up to the cag had us sweating, but now we shivered in the shade.

Anna and I did Endurance which was a bit damp at the top and Lakeland Cragsman, 2 old favourites. Pete and Tish were working their way along the whole crag, and as we left, Pete was setting off on another route, enjoying the sun that had warmed the rock.

Unlike most of the summer, the sun stayed out and we got hotter as we walked back. So much so that Anna enoyed a late swim…… brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

  1. Well done Anna, it can’t have been that warm! And well done Pete for Aphasia, although I’m assuming you’ve done it before? Great route on a great crag 🙂

  2. We tried to catch you guys up at the Langstrath cafe but clearly failed, it had shut when we got there. Although when we passed Shepherd’s cafe it was still open and we stopped to see if you might be there… No luck! 🙁

Laetitia was also a bit sad that she missed her chance to skinny-dip! 😳

So, here’s a picture – a bit closer than Ian’s orange “speck” one above – of me wearing a colourful top ( 😉 ) on Aphasia
