After a lovely meal at the Eagle & Child on Saturday evening (accompanied by not too few beers!) Sunday morning was slow to start...
So we’ve nearly reached 60° South and I was woken up At 6am with the first bangs and crashes as we found the edge of the sea-ice...
Today we had our fist iceberg sighting at 49 degrees south (which I’m told is quite a way north). We have to get to 75 degrees south, so there’s quite a way to go yet...
Well, we can't easily get to Scotland but Ogwen is presently an ice paradise...
So who would have thought that the long journey to Halley base would come to a grinding halt outside Carlisle due to frozen points?
