Today was my Grandfather’s 90th birthday!
We celebrated with a party for family and friends. This was the perfect chance to present our Grandad with a copy of a rather special book – his autobiography! For the last few months, Sarah and I have been typing and typesetting the book which decribes his life from his childhood in Wigan, through his time in the Army during WWII and 3 years in prisoner of war camps, to his marriage to our Grandmother in 1949.
After lots of typing, checking, editing, picture enhancing, page number correcting and picture caption creating, Sarah and I were relieved that the final book was suitably grand and worthy of my Grandfather’s moving life story.
Happy birthday Grandad and looking forward to the century!
What a great present!! 😀 Will be a great read: I bet he’s got some stories to tell…………. He’s looking great in the picture, hard to believe he’s 90!! ❗
Living history – and so good that it’s all written down (well, the polite bits, anyway)!
We can make a copy available to you if you would like to read it. Let me know by email and I would be happy to arrange.
I don’t know your e-mail but I’d be interested to read it!
btw, now I have an idea about where your writing talent comes from. 😉
Yeah, we’d love to see the book as well.
Your grandfather definitely doesn’t look 90. Is he up for running as well?
Excellent reading! :star: :star: :star: Hope your Grandad will write Part 2 for his 100th birthday, I would love to read more about all those years after the War.
Sweden ❓ 😯
It’s a lookup based on your IP address, not my fault, sorry. 😉
🙂 I’ll let him know!
Wow he’s looking really good for 90 🙂
