With some difficulty I persuaded Sabiene that she had been running long enough to enter a race. Andy took less convincing and, with Ian as our support team and coat-holder, we went to Grasmere today.

To my relief I managed to get home before both Andy and Sabiene and after I had collected my medal….

… I was able to encourage each of them to manage a final sprint.

He achieved 59 minutes 🙂 🙂

Sabiene was certain that she would be last back, but far from it: she managed a creditable 63 minutes. But she had put in a lot of effort:

A great effort by everybody, over a difficult course. It looked (from the cake stall :yum: ) to be much hillier than the Langdale race. Anna was 3rd in her class 😯 There were 250 runners and Anna, Andy and Sabiene were all way up the finishing list. 🙂
Note: he is referring to Langdale Pudding/St George’s Day course – it certainly wasn’t as hilly as the Langdale marathon/half!
Well done you guys… I hope you haven’t put Sabiene off, she looks complete worn out in the last piccy.
How many cakes did Ian manage to eat?
Don’t know – he was on his own at the cake stall for the duration of the race though.
