I use Twitter a little (just last week I got myself hooked in to the Cumbrian broadband debate thanks to a few Tweets with my MP, Tim Farron). However, I don’t use Flickr that much (what use do others have for Flickr?).
That all said, I stumbled upon (thanks to Twitter) this picture of European detail map of Flickr and Twitter locations and my immediate impression was “wow”, and “pretty”, so I thought I’d share my discovery. There is a whole series of pictures of regions of the world, all part of Eric Fischer’s “see something or say something” project, I just picked out the one of Europe – even Cumbria gets quite well lit up. 🙂
Red dots are locations of Flickr pictures. Blue dots are locations of Twitter tweets. White dots are locations that have been posted to both.
That’s quite fascinating – I bet there’s a very strong correlation between this & population centres – which, if true, makes your comment about Cumbria interesting – with a small population, there must be an awful lot of nattering going on!
