I’m working at Lloyds Banking Group at the moment, and as they are sponsors of next year’s Olympics they had the Olympic torch on display in the office last week. Thought I’d join in the fun and have my photo taken.
Apparently, there isn’t one torch, there’s one flame. This is one of 9 gold plated torches, but next year there will be a couple of thousand.
The 8000 drilled holes represent the 8000 torch bearers. Hopefully we’ll get to see the torch when it comes to Bowness next year.
I wonder if someone thought of the 8000 holes bit after they tried lifting a prototype without holes β π
and after they realised that gold prices were super high.
I hope you sneaked it out π ………….
they really wouldn’t miss one π
A large scoop of ice cream on the top would just finish it off nicely :yum:
But the ice cream would fall to the bottom and the only way to eat it would be to lick it through the holes π₯ Oh hang on … imagine the size of the flake
I’m definitely liking the idea of a big scoop of ice cream… and maybe it would make excellent spaghetti ice :yum: :yum: :yum:
