Olympic Torch in Bowness-on-Windermere!

The weather might have been dreadful, but there was no stopping the Olympic Torch relay and the awesome Olympic celebrations in Bowness this evening!

Although the rain had stopped for the actual arrival of the torch at the Bowness pier, onboard the MV Tern, it soon got going again and was in full Lakeland torrential force just as Les Commandos Percu started their show. Luckily the show was so utterly amazing we all soon forgot about the rain altogether. The Les Commandos Percu show is the first of only five Olympic Festival events, and the only one in the North West!

We came home covered in the debris from the explosions. Yes, explosions is the best way to describe the pyrotechnics in the Les Commandos Percu show!

I was already super excited about the Olympic Games, but now I’m positively bubbling with anticipation of the start of the Games in just a few weeks time… Incredible, the most important sporting event on the planet, and it’s here! :star:

  1. We had planned to see the torch as it came thro’ our locality – as nothing much usually happens here – but unfortunately as it turned out we were on our way to the hospital πŸ™
