Having rappelled this route (Johnny Vegas) on the decent from Solar Slab, albeit in the dark (see Tibor’s video post), we thought it looked interesting so returned to climb it later in the trip.

Everett follows up, savouring the moment…

Good job we did this overhanging rappel in the dark last time! On our night time rappels, the rope came down freely every time. On this descent, however, it jammed every time it could – how lucky were we on our previous epic?

A nice path this time but coming out in the dark we lost the path and bushwhacked through the desert scrub you see around.

Fun surroundings…

Good thing about being near Las Vegas is the shows…

The ultimate debauchery with a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon on last day…
Johnny Vegas looks like a nice route, if the look of the quality 1st and 2nd pitches are anything to go by. 😀
I’m sure the helicopter flight must have been amazing too!
When are they going to open a “Heart Attack Grill” in Ambleside – maybe we’ll get a chance to try our new defib 😈
I thought we already had a ‘Heart Attack Grill’ at RLH, judging by the size for some catered meals :yum:
There’s a permanent ambulance located outside the Vegas joint but I think it might be just for show 😕
Their biggest burger meal comes in at 9000cals 😀
