Month: December 2013
On Boxing day I went skiing with Uncle Pete and Aunty Tish in Brevent. Mummy, Daddy and Oliver wanted to practice a bit more on the blue slope, but I wanted to do something a bit more exciting.
This Christmas I went skiing in Chamonix with Uncle Pete and Aunty Tish. We arrived on the Sunday before Christmas and spent the first day at Planards to get our ski legs back.
After the ice came the powder… no Nigella jokes here.
We took a little time out of Chamonix and headed over (or should I say under) the border to Cogne for some ice climbing.
We have long neglected the wonderful facilities of the Canmore Nordic Centre – pisted cross country runs of up to 30Km.
2013 - another year of adventure and another year of the blog! It's a shame that many of the blog's regular authors have found themselves short of time to write a few words and share their photos...
This year we have gate-crashed my sister’s Christmas holiday and joined them for skiing in Chamonix.
Terry and Andrew were lucky to attend the book-launch of this new selected ice climbing guidebook at the Iron Goat, Cougar Creek in the Canadian Rockies the other night.
Just our luck, mid-week saw all-time record low temperatures for December in Las Vegas! Tuesday it was 18°C and overnight saw Wednesday’s temperature plummet to -2°C. We’ve been ice climbing in warmer temperatures than this! :freeze:
