Skiing off Piste

On Boxing day I went skiing with Uncle Pete and Aunty Tish in Brevent. Mummy, Daddy and Oliver wanted to practice a bit more on the blue slope, but I wanted to do something a bit more exciting.

We went on an easy red to begin with and then went on a harder slope. Uncle Pete hit a rock and face planted into the snow! He got straight back up and carried on skiing. On the second run we saw the whole where Uncle Pete’s head had been!

About 20m down the harder red Uncle Pete hit another rock and fell over, and our skis collided and i toppled over as well. Aunty Tish just managed to stop in time and asked if we were ok, Uncle Pete just started laughing and soon we were all laughing! A bit further down we came across some ice so I decided to go off Piste and shouted ‘I’m taking my own route’. That was my first time off Piste and I really hope I can do it again soon.

We all had a fantastic time in Chamonix and can’t wait to go back!

  1. Yay James, you were amazing. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
I could’t believe it when you went off piste and managed such a steep section. You didn’t fall over once, apart from when Pete crashed right in front of you.

Next time, you’ll have to keep practicing on the un-groomed sections next to the piste so you can master the powder. 😎

  2. It looks to me that the only problem you had with your skiing was Uncle Pete!! πŸ™„ πŸ™„
Steer clear in future and stay close to Aunty Tish. She can cook aswell. πŸ˜†
