Last week the Lakes were like an Alpine Playground with endless sub-zero temperatures and clear skies. Could these be the conditions needed to make an ascent of Inaccessible Gully on Dove Crag? This ultra classic Cold Climbs route is a rare tick as it takes a very long time to form even with low temperatures as it doesn’t take that much drainage. Steve and I decided to take a day out from work and to put in the effort to walk up and take a peek… We were lucky! However, it was in less than easy condition being pretty thin and therefore very exciting! 😛
Here’s a pick of the route I found on’t’web … it is in relatively easy condition in this picture! Imagine it with half as much ice and unconsolidated snow! 😮
