BMC Meetings & Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail

Leafy Wye Valley and the aptly named Wilderness Centre was the venue for the BMC National Council meeting this past weekend… It was a marathon meeting starting at 9.30am and finishing at very nearly 5pm. That’s a tough days work for over thirty volunteers!

Anyway, Sunday was ours and we were in a beautiful part of the country. Unfortunately it wasn’t perfect weather. Dry, but damp from low level cloud all night and through to lunch time. This meant that climbing was off the cards and replaced by an interesting walk around the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail. We were last here in 2008 with my mum. ๐Ÿ™

  1. The Wilderness Centre is a pretty good venue, not least of all because they let Zac stay. There were some great views over the valley towards the Severn. We had a good walk over the fields and down to Mitcheldean for a quick pint before dinner. A great way to work up an appetite for all the food they had. ๐Ÿ™‚
