On Saturday Pete and I had a fantastic trip (with Dave, Toby, Matt, and Tony) underground to help celebrate Dave’s Birthday. The trip was through the Ease Gill system from County Pot to Lancaster Hole. Lancaster Hole was used instead of the planned to exit via an exchange with another team entering via Cow Pot. We deviated to this easier exit as most of the team were pretty knackered since the water in the main stream was very high and fast! It could have been a one way trip, but we just managed to turn around and make it back along the high level route. There were plenty of tight squeezes and climbs to keep us entertained and to provide multiple bruises all over the place. I haven’t done that kind of caving for probably ten years or so. Sorry, no pictures of the cave, but here’s one of our very old, and now very rare, TSA oversuits after washing the slippy glooopy mud off 😉 . Looking forward to the next trip…
After all the caving was done we returned to Greenclose and helped celebrate Dave’s birthday with a brilliant BBQ shared with a large gathering of caving chums…
Sunday was wet. And we were a little hung over, knackered, and very battered and bruised! So Dave, Fiona, Pete, and I went to the Goat Gap Cafe for second breakfast.
