A fresh dump of deep powder at this time of year is welcome for resort skiing, but not so welcome for ski touring!
As a warm up for what should be a week of ski touring Ian, Chris, and I headed up on to the pistes at Les Contamine. Ian and Chris had already had a day skiing, but I needed a few runs to help remind the legs what do with skis attached!
The scramble up the west ridge of Raven Crag, leading up on to Holme Fell, is a lovely easy way to gain height. Perfect to blow the cobwebs out of our heads following last night’s party…
The Climbers’ Club AGM has for me been traditionally a great opportunity to meet up with friends, enjoy a slap up dinner, and get involved helping set the direction of those that manage the club

We used the Lizard-Spock Expansion of the classic rock-paper-scissors game to decide where to go and play in the deepening powder on our birthday celebration day. Well, actually we used the game to decide who got to choose the venue… Laetitia won, and Les Grands Montets was chosen.
