The bridleways around Kentmere offer a massive number of alternate routes for mountain biking. No wonder it’s so popular here!
We wanted to go somewhere new today. So we settled for a trip to the granite outcrops of Eskdale. First on the hit list was Bell Stand.
Dave has an incredibly diverse groups of mates; weirdo cavers, nutter motorcyclists, a few loony climbers, some computer geeks, and one or two semi-professional beer drinkers. Then realise that that makes Dave all of the above!
We hoped for more of the amazing weather today, but alas, just as we turned into the Duddon Valley it started to rain. But there was no way that we weren’t going to climb after the long drive to get there!
Having recently advanced to leading rock climbs, I think Dave enjoyed our visit to Black Crag to tick the ultra classic Troutdale Pinnacle.
Laetitia, Mum (Wesley; Mum’s dog) and I enjoyed a cruise on Windermere in the brilliant late summer sunshine today.
I’m not sure if the Staveley guys were the best. If they weren’t, they were only narrowly beaten by the guys from Luton (pictured above). Either way the procession through the streets of Kendal were an amazing flash of colour and sound!
Yes, the main picture is a fake! Well, in that it wasn’t taken today. However, the picture right was taken just after the rain stopped. I’m not sure it shows the wet rock clearly, but it was running!
