La Plagne is a decent resort for mixed ability ski groups. It has lots of accommodation options including luxury chalets; sadly, ours was not one of these although it had been booked as such...
After the difficulties of pushing through the sea ice, we finally made it to the Antarctic continent on Christmas Day...
The last week has been a slow journey of winding our way through the sea ice of the Weddell Sea, occasionally getting stuck for between 15 minutes and 8 hours at a time.
For the last few days we’ve been trying to find a route through the sea ice toward our destination...
So we’ve nearly reached 60° South and I was woken up At 6am with the first bangs and crashes as we found the edge of the sea-ice...
So who would have thought that the long journey to Halley base would come to a grinding halt outside Carlisle due to frozen points?
Ah, the rewards of hard physical exercise in a hot country!!
To try and get some sun we went to Portugal...
