Category: Rock Climbing
Climbing rock (aka Free Climbing).
Ian, Anna, Andy and Sabiene braved overcast skies and headed for the South crag on Castle Rock for a pootle about on some easy routes.
Hey Kats, Trevor has sent me some ghost pictures. Here we are on 'Sounds Like a Rodent' his 1996 route in Wully valley.
We had planned to go to Gimmer today, but like so many a 'plan A', it was changed last minute to White Ghyll (picture right). The reason; although sunny and warm we decided it was too windy to be up high in Langdale. It was a wise choice as the wind was bitingly cold!
Scout Scar is a new location for us, surprising as it's the closest crag to our home. With easy access from Kendal, a super short walk in (just ten minutes), and amazing views of Morecombe Bay, Kentmere and the central fells - a top spot.
Is there a better way to end a work day than a trip to Borrowdale (despite the long drive from the South) to grab a route and a beer?
On a wonderful hot summer day we headed out to Crag Lough (below Hadrian’s Wall) after a full breakfast, thanks to Andy!
Our trip to Greatend Crag in Borrowdale to tick a few routes after work and to kick off the weekend early wasn't a good one!
Work gets in the way far too much! We should get out climbing after work everyday...
You would have thought we'd be knackered after a week in Spain learning to skydive, but no, on the Sunday after our return, glorious Lakeland weather greeted us.
