After providing support and photographic services to Laetitia and Vicky at the Great North Swim in Windermere on Saturday morning it was time for me to high-tail it to North Wales for a CC committee meeting.
Last weekend we went across to Yorkshire to sample more rock climbing on the lovely limestone crags. We’d chosen Great Close Scar right next to Malham Tarn.
We had plans to get several household chores, gardening, and decorating jobs done over the bank holiday weekend. This seemed like a perfect plan as the weather forecast was less than hopefully.
After exploring the some trad climbing on Tenerife a few weeks ago, it seemed logical to do the same for Gran Canaria, which we did the other week.
Wednesday was the first of this summer’s CC evening climbing meets in the Lakes. Thankfully the weather was perfect – sunny, warm, and of course dry. Hooray! Sunday arrived as perfect as forecasted – wall to wall sunshine. But instead of jumping on the first lift up to the Aiguille du Midi to bag a rock route, we decided to let the sun do it’s stuff and hopefully melt any snowy ledges while we hopped over the border to Switzerland.
