Walking (mostly in the mountains).
With England suffering monsoon weather, we headed north and had a perfect day on the Ardnamurchan peninsula........
In between monsoon-like showers we fitted in a scramble up Sharp Edge, Blencathra.
While the summer came to England, spring remained in Chamonix. Clouds kept the temperature cool, so we decided an all day adventure wasn't what we wanted...
Dave took Kath caving... well, sort of. Along the River Eden north of Little Salkeld are some sandstone caves [to] visit.
Well, Pete & Tish, Anna & Ian may have been in Chamonix but it was one of the finest week ends of Lake District weather for a long time.
This boot is all we found from the last party brave enough to traverse the mine that stretches out through endless darkness beneath the Moelwyn mountains!
Anna, Ian, Andy and Sabiene spent Sunday on Blencathra, and a trip up Hall's Fell Ridge.
The weather relented (slightly) on Sunday, and Anna, Ian, Andy, Pete and Sarah dragged themselves out of bed (unlike Sabiene) for a round of the tops behind Braithwaite.
