After a night camping near Castleton which provided the first wet weather test for a tent I had bought on the day of Pete’s wedding, I met Rachel and Richard for breakfast. We then drove to the TSG hut to sort out a trip into Peak cavern.

Thursday evening was the start of the Armstrong Watson bi-weekly walking season, but to start things off this year we had a special occasion............

The day began with my opening the curtains and seeing the sunny weather had not yet been replaced by the forecast snow and a text message "What you doin' today? Wanna go climbing?" to Ian. The day ended with the forecast snow (and winter temperatures) driving us away from our chosen crag...
