Rock climbing in the Canadian Rockies.
It’s a very short summer season, it can be cold anytime, and it can rain a lot too “Eh?”. But the limestone rock climbing in the Rockies is immaculate when you can get to it. Areas like the Ghost River Wilderness are unbeatable for world-class routes in a remote setting – a very special place!
The drive alone in to the Ghost is an adventure in itself! A big truck (4×4) is pretty much essential, although now-a-days much of the area is barred to vehicles to protect the wildlife, especially the spawning fish in the Ghost river.
Without a 4×4 the best option to get to the Ghost Wilderness maybe to take the scenic walking route along the shoreline of Lake Minnewanka. But, watch out for the bears! đ¯ And the wolves! đŽ And the cougars! đ
